My three year old girl has some kind of eczema (itchy skin and rash). What kind of doctor should I take her to see to save my time and money and get best result for my girl, a pediatrician, a dermatologist, a family doctor, a hospital, or someplace else?
Pediatrician: How about starting with your child's pediatrician? He or she is likely to be very experienced in treating eczema in children as this is a very common skin problem. If your pediatrician feels it is medically necessary, he/she may subsequently refer you to a dermatologist if necessary. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
Three yrs: rule of 3: Three is a fun age! most 3 year olds can do a lot of "three" things: 3 word sentences, 3-4 phrase conversations, follow (when they feel like it!) 2-3 step instructions, and can ride a 3-wheeler (trike). Three year olds have short (think 3 minute!) attention spans. For some really nice information about child development, check the cdc site (cdc.Gov) or the aap parent site, healthychildren.Org. ...Read more

Not unless that: Drinking lasted most of the year. Single episodes of alcohol consumption have very limited permanent effects, unless the person drinks to the point of alcohol poisoning or has severe underlying problems. It certainly should not effect ultimate muscle growth. Some people are very sensitive and get muscle inflammation with even slight exposure, but this is rare. ...Read more
Can lead poisoning stop the growth of a 3 year old or will they continue to grow but a slower paste please help me please ?
Depends on situation: The problems of lead toxicity have declined over the years as we have removed lead from paints & gasoline lowering exposures. Most lead exposures found today have little effect on growth. However, some kids with high exposures & high levels show suppressed blood formation, growth, health & can have neurological disorders & die. Proper followup and treatment are important for any elevated levels. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How long does it take for a growth plate fracture in a 3 year old to heal, who's been immobilized for 3 weeks?
Depends: How quickly growth plate fractures heal depends on a number of factors. The most important are probably: which bone is fractured, how severe it is, age and the general health of the child. That being said, children do tend to heal more quickly, and growth plate fractures heal more quickly than other fractures. My 3 year old son have a high fever for three days and just started vomiting today.. His sister has a fever also. What could this be? What should I do
Probably viral but..: It is impossible to know for certain from these symptoms, but the most likely cause is a viral infection, possibly roseola, which is common in 3 yo's & has high fever with few other symptoms (though vomiting can be one of them). Classically the fever goes away after 3-5 days & then a rash appears, so it may be hard to know if he has this for a couple more days. I got three dissolvable stitches in my upper lip two days ago. My 3 year old son just head butted me and one the stitches is loose. What do I do?
Head butt: Ok, take a look at the wound. Are the edges of skin touching each other? Is there a space large enough to slip a dime into? One loose stitch is no problem as long as the wound looks ok and you're not seeing a gap in the skin. If there is any question, we are happy to look at it in a Prime visit with photos! Sorry about the head butt! Those hurt! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
