This is a fairly: High wbc. If the cells are mostly neutrophils this probably represents a healthy response to a bacterial infection. More information is needed to know for sure. Are the hemoglobin and platelets normal? ...Read more

Head butt: Ok, take a look at the wound. Are the edges of skin touching each other? Is there a space large enough to slip a dime into? One loose stitch is no problem as long as the wound looks ok and you're not seeing a gap in the skin. If there is any question, we are happy to look at it in a Prime visit with photos! Probably viral but..: It is impossible to know for certain from these symptoms, but the most likely cause is a viral infection, possibly roseola, which is common in 3 yo's & has high fever with few other symptoms (though vomiting can be one of them). Classically the fever goes away after 3-5 days & then a rash appears, so it may be hard to know if he has this for a couple more days. Please see "comment" below for more. ...Read more
