Doctor I have fungus oon my big toe and I have a hole on top and it hurts please will you tell me the best meds to use and anything else will help?
If you have pain: I would suggest you see a podiatrist. They will be able to debride or cut down the toenail so that it should not hurt. Additionally, they may decide if appropriate to give you an oral medication or topical. A hole is not a good sign but difficult to comment as we don't see it. ...Read more

Nail on big toe is 2/3 detached. Negative for fungus but doc scripted Thymol anyway. It grows, I clip, been at least a yr. but no progress.
Hold everything..: There are many reasons for the nail to be detached from the nail bed (onycholysis). If a fungus was not detected, then there is no need to be applying thymol, unless there is a suspicion that the fungus is present, regardless of the fungal detection test. Take a series of photos of your nails growth to verify your suspicions. Be careful of aggressive pedicures. ...Read more
Son has one big toe nail that has fallen off & the other big toe nail is lifting. No trauma, fungus ruled out, nail flat/spoon, ideas of course?

Repetitive micro trauma like a toe hitting the end of a shoe when running etc could be a cause, and nails can be negative for fungus due to false negatives. ...Read more
