Side effects of longterm use (2 weeks+) of Pheniramine maleate 50 mg twice a day. This workin for my skin allergy when cetrizine n allegra (fexofenadine) didn't work.
Very similar: Both are older antihistamines and very close in their chemical structure. The chlorpheniramine has a chlorine in it, while the pheniramine doesn't. Pheniramine is: dimethyl[3-phenyl-3- (pyridin-2-yl)propyl]amine while chlorpheniramine is 3- (4-chlorophenyl)-n, n-dimethyl- 3-pyridin-2-yl-propan-1-amine. ...Read more

There can be heart rhythm problems, neurologic effects - it's just not worth the risk even if it is working well for runny nose and eczema. You need to find a good pediatric allergist and find a different regimen of treatment before this med does permanent damage. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can I use anti histamine Fenistil gel (Dimethindene Maleate) for a bite while I'm in very early pregnancy?
No major risk: Most antihistamines are considered safe for pregnancy (Category B) nowadays although I am not familiar with the product you are using. I do not expect any measurable absorption from the topical application of an antihistamine on the skin and thus it would be extremely unlikely that even if a trace of it gets to the fetus.
