Unlikely: Claritin (loratadine) is considered a non-sedating antihistamine. By package insert it is associated with 7% sedation. Higher doses and taking medication that slows the metabolism of loratadine such as erythromycin, cimetidine (Tagamet) or ketoconazole can cause sedation even with 1 tablet. Careful: Be careful taking sudafed while breastfeeding. It can decrease your milk supply. Codeine might make you sleep more soundly and not wake to your crying baby, or fall asleep while breastfeeding, which can be very dangerous (dropping baby to floor or rolling on baby/suffocating him). Add water to the air (humidifier) and flush your nose with saline. Honey can help coughs (for those over 1 yr old). ...Read more

Metoclopramide OK: Metoclopramide is commonly used for nausea in early pregnancy. Although we can never be absolutely certain a drug is safe, Metoclopramide is category b for pregnancy, and is probably as safe as anything you could take. Codeine often causes nausea. I wouldn't recommend it when you already have nausea. ...Read more
