My chest feels congested like when I have bronchitis. Also I have mild dry cough but I suffer from anxiety and I'm panicking. Should I go to the ER?
Hyperventilation: Try breathing into small brown paper bag first (cover nose and mouth with it and seal with hands). If after doing this for several minutes you feel the breathing is more well-controlled but you still feel short of breath then go to the ER or urgent care. If you have no other symptoms of illness it is unlikely to be bronchitis (possibly asthma if you're prone to that). See doctor for anxiety. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a dry cough and a little chest tightness, when I get stressed it gets worse, a little hard to breath. I've had bronchitis and bronchio-spasms. Mucus tastes bad when I cough, and it's green.
See your doctor 4 tx: Green mucous tastes bad, and indicates you have either a secondary infection, or sinuses that are not clearing, and a possible upper respiratory infection that needs to be attended to by your pcp. S/he can listen to your lungs, and check your head, ears, eyes, nose, and throat to get a better idea what's going on, and to recommend treatment. Don't delay! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Do I have acute bronchitis? I have been experiencing a dry cough (little mucus coming up, which is light green), soreness of chest due to coughing (sometime lower abdomen, also associated with coughing). I also been in and out of a fever. Smyptoms have last
You could very well have bronchitis based on your symptoms, however you will need to be evaluated by a medical professional to be sure. A basic auscultation of your lungs with a stethoscope may be all that is necessary to make the diagnosis. Additional testing may be done if deemed necessary (x-ray, sputum culture). Bronchitis can be viral or bacterial; most commonly viral, which usually resolves on it's own by one to two weeks.
Good luck. ...Read more
