When a person gets a semi-permanent bridge put in, can that bridge be shaved down by the dentist if it's too big on one side?
Can a permanent crowned tooth be used to attach a fixed implant permanent bridge with one pontic attached in between?
Not Recommended: Your natural teeth are slightly mobile (due to periodontal ligament cushion) but an implant is not mobile in the bone. Connecting a fixed bridge to both mobile and non-mobile abutments can cause issues. Best bet is to try to place an implant where the pontic will be. The fixed bridge is rigid and movement of the natural tooth can cause undue stress on the implant resulting in premature failure. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Need RCT on crowned tooth that is part of a permanent bridge...OK for doc to drill through crown and not remove bridge??
Root canal: This can be done. It is more challenging than doing it without the crown/bridge on but the cost of cutting the bridge off to do the root canal isuch great than doing the root canal through the abutment tooth on the bridge. You just have to accept the risks of porcelain fracture and loosening of the bridge when it is drilled through...these are risks, but it can be done successfully. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How many ( weeks/ months) would you keep temporary cement in new permanent bridge on upper molar natural teeth with no dental issues or concerns.
Indefinitely: First of all, why is a permanent bridge on with temporary cement? Sometimes this is done when the health of one of the nerves is in question. I usually will try to remove this after 6 months and recement with permanent cement. If it doesn't come off very easily, i will usually just leave it in place and monitor. If it loosens, then remove and recement. If it stays secure, monitor only. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
When an abutted tooth in a permanent bridge gets pulled, can dentist leave the pontic attached to other abutted tooth for temporary cosmetic reasons?
I am planning to ask my dentist to remove my 3 unit permanent bridge for an implant. Maybe or maybe not bone reabsorbed by now. Any suggestions?
Bone: After long-standing tooth loss bone tends to dissolve away. Ridge augmentation to prepare site for implant may be necessary. In addition to cap on implant, adjacent teeth will need to be recapped. If bridge ok, you may want to maintain it. If there is break-down, replacement or repair required. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Help i had some dental work on my eye tooth and a permanent bridge attached to it now iam in so much pain i can't sleep?
I had a permanent bridge on 9, 10, and 11 teeth. I had to have a root canal on 11. Then dentist (endro) told me he would drill underneath just like a cavety. When he finished, he had cut the tooth in half, now I have 9, 10, as regular teeth and 11 as a
It : It is not clear exactly what was done to tooth #11 to make cause it to be cut in half. Usually you can drill through the crown to do a root canal, and in the case of tooth #11 the access point is on the inside aspect of the tooth away from visualization. Too little information to make a comment about other options. Sorry. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

See Prosthodontist: If you have the option based on bone and location, forget the bridge and go for the implant. Far superior and longer lasting treatment. Independent of other teeth and helps preserve existing bone. At 45 you need 50 years of service. Bridge would need to be replaced on average every 10-15 years. Once implant is placed, only the crown might require replacement, less frequently and for less.Good Luck ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Very difficult. : It is important to differentiate between toenail fungus and skin fungus. The latter being easier to treat. Fungi are oppurtunistic and look for any reason to come back to you. Afterall, why not? Yu offers them "free rent", a place to live. Antifungal medication is a start. Even after the fungus may be eradicated, i believe maintenance therapy is required to keep the fungus away. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
