If it's an infection: ...it might help. Impetigo often occurs around the lips or mouth. If it's an allergic reaction or irritation, then a mild cortisone cream might help. If it's a cold sore, an antiviral like acyclovir might work. Perioral rashes or sores can be caused by vitamin deficiency but, if you have a healthy diet, that's unlikely. Hope this helps. Sometimes you can: only control, but not cure, perioral dermatitis. The cause(s) need to be addressed. In your case Irritation from shaving, shaving creams or aftershave products may be contributing to it. Use hypoallergenic products & a fresh razor blade or switch to an electric razor.
