Periods Every Two Weeks
In the last 12 months i keep getting periods every two weeks and the periods are really heavy. I am 26 years old & not sexual active. Thank you?

A lady friend has been having her periods every two weeks heavy heavy flows. She is worried. What can be the case?
Should be checked: It could be many things. The worst are cervical or uterine cancer. It maybe from an abnormal thyroid gland messing up the hormones. It could be from a benign type of growth inside the uterus called a fibroid. It could just be from stress making the hormone levels rise and fall. Bottom line is, you need to make sure it isn't anything serious, so see your doctor about it soon. ...Read more

If the doctor was at fault for misplacing the iud, i'm not sure why you can't try another, like the Mirena which helps to decrease menstrual flow. If you tried one oral contraceptive and it didn't work, i would try another brand. I think you still have options, so don't give up. ...Read more
