I have heavy period with large clots I'm 50 years old?

Heavy period: See you Ob/gyn and they can determine whether you need further management for this. Sometimes it can be managed with medicines or sometimes you may need a dilation and curettage of the uterus to reduce the thickness of the uterine lining. Your ob can sort all of this out. It is a fairly common problem of women in your age group. You are not alone. Good luck and feel better. ...Read more

I've been having heavy period with large clots for 9days. Should I visit a gynecologist now or wait until its finish but im not sure as to when that?

Call your GYN: I don't have your risk factors for endometrial hyperplasia or ca, but usually bleeding like you're describing, warrants a quick hemoglobin check to make sure you're not at risk from severe anemia. If your HGB is good, it can wait for a regular appointment. If you have symptoms such as feeling faint, jittery, light-headed, or racing pulse-you might be sent to the nearest er. So, call your gyn now. ...Read more

Probably that will -: Be towards the bottom on the list of possibilities. The pain of such sudden onset is likely due to a pulled muscle, or from an inflamed appendix, ovarian cyst, etc. The bleeding could be from your fibroids.

What dose heavey cloting mean durring you're period thick fairly large clots durring my period

What dose heavey cloting mean durring you're period thick fairly large clots durring my period

That: That is abnormal. Heavy clotting during a period can be caused by dysfunctional uterine bleeding, where basically there is a hormonal imbalance caused by a variety of things including stress on the body, other factors, or even weight changes (too high or too low); if there is any chance a patient could have been pregnant then heavy clotting can represent a miscarriage; or it can be caused by changes in the uterus or cervix. I don't know your age or other issues about you. If this continues, if you think you could have been pregnant, or if you have light-headedness/fainting then you will have to be seen by your doctor immediately. Also please be sure that your pap smear is up to date. ...Read more

Started period on 8/7. Received 2nd lupron (leuprolide) shot for 5cm submucousal fibroid 8/22. Still have my period with many large clots & pain. Must I be alarmed?

Deep pain with sex for 2 years and abdominal pain diarrhea vomiting during ovulation/period. Pass large clots. All GI tests normal. Hysterectomy?

MY OPINION ONLY: You are MUCH too YOUNG for a hysterectomy! Find a GYN Specialist who specializes in DYSPAREUNIA (pain with intercourse) Your heavy bleeding is also treatable often with Birth Control Pills for a few cycles!
Ask you present GYN for a referral. He/she SHOULD know of a colleague with interest in YOUR Problem. IF NOT seek out another Gynecologist
Hope this helps!

You might: Ask that your IRON level be checked...a VERY COMMON cause for this scenario is common iron deficiency which is made worse by the heavier menstrual bleeding which in fact aggravates that very condition. Discuss this with your GYN or Family Physician

Cycle resetting: Likely your cycle is just resetting itself. Slight Irregularities in your cycle can happen from time to time regarding flow. But if your cycle is very irregular (eg 6 wks, then 2 weeks) for the next couple of months and your flow is very heavy (need to change pads every 2 hours) or more than 7 days. Then you should see your physician. ...Read more
