Maybe: Periods can go off of your normal cycle, this is most likely why you are experiencing heavy flow. You may have another irregular period before you go back to normal. If you are having more pain than a regular period or if your bleeding does not stop in a normal time please see your gynecologist. You may want to see your OB/GYN if you are dizzy every time you stand up. ...Read more

Sound like going: toward the menopause by having anovulatory cycles cauing thickening of the endometrium followed by heavy periods . Have your hormone level checked such as FSH level to see where you stand in terms of going to menopause. Your gyn can help you to make your periods uneventful. Why is there irregular bleeding in perimenopause?

Why is there irregular bleeding in perimenopause?

Hormonal changes: Around menopause, some of the hormones in a woman's body which normally vary in a very predictable way start to change. The fluctuations are not as normal, and sometimes may not even occur. Ovaries produce less estrogen and the brain senses certain changes and tries to compensate. This in turn can affect bleeding patterns. Bleeding can be closer together, farther apart, heavier or even lighter. ...Read more

I am 48. Irregular bleeding for 2014. Exam normal 9-14. Just perimenopause? Off pill 11-13-6-14 per md. Md put me back on 7-14 till now. What to do?

Probably perimenopau: At 48 the most likely cause is the perimenopause. Low dose birth control pills are certainly one way to manage this as is cyclic progestational therapy, or even endometrial ablation or a Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD. The choice depends on you and your particular risk factors and type of bleeding (heavy, light, prolonged, or just unpredictable). Hope this helps. ...Read more

Is dizzy spells normal for women going thru perimenopause, not sure if pregnant also starting bleeding after no period since oct 2011, pain in stomach?

No: Dizzy spells are not a usual symptom of perimenopause. You should be checked by your doctor, especially if there is a chance of pregnancy. Can't say.: The color of vaginal blood is of no clinical significance. Brown blood is older blood being expelled from the uterus. Red blood can be fresher blood. Sore red, vulva could be related to yeast infection, friction, dryness. Don't know how infrequent your periods actually are. There isn't a way to say with the available information. Consider medical eval. Take care. ...Read more
