I am on Percocet 10/325 for pain but it isn't helping as much as it used to, is there something different I can take or add to, to keep from hurting?
Lots of options: You are likely developing tolerance to Percocet and I would recommend a different approach. If your problem is chronic, and the cause is diagnosed and is not cancer Add neurontin or lyrica (pregabalin). I would consider giving a short course of NSAIDs if there is no contraindications. Decrease or stop Percocet under doctor supervision as it is addictive. Once off u could try butrans patch or tapentadol. ...Read more
I just had surgery 2 days ago. I was prescribed hydromorthone 4mg and 10/325 percocets. Can I take 1 of each together? No relief with just 1 of them.
Contact the surgeon: This is part of the treatment by the surgery team. Let their office know the exact situation and follow the guidance. It's part of their work. Take this seriously. It's not the same as chronic pain, so don't think of it that way. Correct mgmt will prevent bad problems down the road w/ pain med mis-use. Hope it feels better soon. ...Read more

Many and varied: The most common side effects of oxycodone are constipation, sedation, sweating, edema and weight gain, but these are with regular (and often excessive) use. In high doses, it can cause respiratory depression and death. Regular use results in physical dependency, and with this can come abuse and addiction. Overtime, can percocet 7.5/325 4 times daily begin to make you tired, even when it didn't prior to that?
Pain resolution: If your pain problem is receding somewhat, you would expect to find that you are feeling more fatigue than usual. Taking narcotics for chronic pain can be effective but is also problematic in many instances. The best strategy for you as an individual would be to slowly wean yourself off of the narcotic completely except flares. Also routinely take only enough to keep pain to manageable level. ...Read more
I've been taking Percocets 10/325. They help alot with my pain I just found out I'm allergic to it. What will they prescribe me now?
Need more info...:
Opiate meds are only really indicated for acute pain, or chronic malignant pain. If your painful condition meets the above criteria, then opiates are indicated.
Opiates are known to cause more nausea and vomiting and it is unlikely that the you'll develop allergy esp. If you have taken percocet 10/325 for a long time. The answer isn't that easy. You ma have to try other med to see your response

Today I was prescribed dicloflenac, but it isn't helping the pain and I hurt too badly to sleep. Can I take a 5/325 percocet while on this medication?
Hi, I've taken percocet 10/325 for the better part of 3 weeks and average of 3-4 daily. Stopping now, how long until it'll be out of my urine? Thanks!
Agree though:: Predicting when urine would be negative is a bit uncertain. These tests stays positive longer when there has been longer use. I feel weird since it sounds like you are trying to beat a test. As answer wisely notes above, if prescribed, you wouldn't be dinged for taking doctor approved percocet. Clearance is variable, from 1-5 days, if you research detection timetables. ...Read more
Seeing pain dr 2 years been on vicodin10/325 then had revision and new fusion surgeon has me on 5/325 percocets doing nothing for pain but won't change?
Long acting medicine: A problem that has lasted a long time deserves a medicine that lasts a long time. A short acting medicine is more difficult to address the issue in the long term and facilitates addiction, dependence and frustration as the dose in your blood rises and quickly falls, making you want to have another. Don't get attached to a specific drug or dose, rather seek a solution. Otherwise doctors resist. ...Read more

Close observation: The effect depends, first, on if you are taking opioid (narcotic) pain medicines regularly, or do not usually take them (opioid naive). It is much more dangerous in the later situation. In most patients, 40mg of oxycodone will produce, somnolence, fatique, lethargy, slowed respiratory rate, constricted pupils, light-headedness, and nausea. Be sure to not take any other medications, or otc depress. ...Read more

2-4 hours: Oxycodone is a short-acting drug, and takes about 20-30 minutes to get into bloodstream and brain, and then lasts an additional 2-3 hours. No big difference:
They both contain oxycodone and acetaminophen as active ingredients. Sometimes fillers etc. Make a difference in effect. Pain meds are potent conditioners and often patients will highly prefer one brand over the next as a result.

It stops working as: Well as it used to. Virtually anybody who takes opioid drugs on a regular basis will develop tolerance - it is part of the physical nature of the drug and its interaction with our receptors. This is why opioid should virtually NEVER be the only thing done for pain. Many other modalities, including physical treatments like heat, ultrasound, acupuncture, massage, TENS units etc should be used too ...Read more
