Percentile For Infants
Relative study: His rating means that 10% of infants at this age have a larger head circumference (size) while 90% are smaller. If the size has increased from 25-50-75-90% over several months it would suggest growth was too rapid. If usually in that range, it just means the kid has a big head.It hasn't bothered me any, except for having trouble finding a helmet/hat that would fit..
You serious ??????: This site is not a chat room and the 400 character limit for each answer can never cover a complete answer. There are thousands of books available on the subject.A good site for general info is HealthyChildren.org. If you have a specific question for this site, provide background info and ask a specific question. We cannot see uploads or questions you asked in the past.See 1 more doctor answer
Interesting question: If your only reason for asking is just because you want your kid to be tall, then skip past what i say because it won't help you. If you're asking about food making an infant taller because you're interested in making the infant healthier, follow this link to livestrong: http://www.Livestrong.Com/article/69870-kids-grow-taller/.
Runner-stroller: Manny big stores carry the so-called runner-stroller (big wheels) designed for faster speed, thus you can use to push your infant along while running/exercising. Just make sure you find a path that is relatively smooth. You can also do treadmill, stationary bike, infront-of-tv activities at home while baby is asleep. If there is a will, there is a way--and u have the will. Consult doc. Good luck.
Lack of energy: If an infant is ill, he/she will lack a vigorous cry, lack interest in feeding. The infant will sleep much more than normal. The muscle tone may be relaxed. The infant may have a lack of a normal suck. If you push your finger on the palm, and the color pink is slow in returning, the infant may be dehydrated or lack oxygen. Also observe the breathing effort; if fast seek help. See a doctor ASAP!
Not recommended: Many children eat bits of dirt now and again. It is not recommended and most suffer no harm. There are some gems in dirt which can cause diarrheal illnesses and possibly some toxins in dirt. If your child eats a lot of dirt or eats it frequently, contact your doctor. Otherwise, wash his/her hands and distract him/her with another activity.See 2 more doctor answers
Usually observation: Depending on the age, observation and symptomatic treatment is all that is needed. Suctioning of the nose to keep the nostrils open is key. If the air is dry, a cool mist humidifier may be of benefit. Observe for fever or other signs of infection and make sure the babe is warm, clean and dry and loved a lot. If concerned, see your pcp. Otc meds should only be used with advice of pcp.See 1 more doctor answer
Briefly: Infants often settle better into sleep if they are swaddled because it returns them to the sameness of the womb. The random movement of arms and legs can be distracting to them. Yet it is important to gradually loosen the swaddling and get them into proper bed attire by a month of age. Babies can suffocate in their blankets. Sleeping in a onezie with no blanket, pillow or bumpers is recommended.See 1 more doctor answer
Be more specific: I know of no shots that are recommended for infants that are dangerous to them.If so they would not be used. If you read the stuff from the vaccine haters, understand that they have been at it forever.Ben Franklin was a skeptic about the smallpox vaccine, but his memoirs record his sadness that his failure to accept it cost him a son.
SIDS: Also known as sudden infant death syndrome. This is when an otherwise healthy baby is put down to rest or sleep and when the parent checks on them finds them unresponsive. One theory for this is reflux which can happen during sleep and the infant aspirates stomach contents into the lungs and suffocates.
The average age for : waving "bye" back to someone who waved to him is 10 months. At that age a baby should mimic "Pat-a-Cake & "Peek-a-Boo", raise his arms to be picked up (6-9 mos.) & turn consistently to his name. (8-9 mos.) These are signs of reciprocal social communication & reciprocal social interaction. If absent, seek an assessment by your state's Early Intervention Program for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.See 2 more doctor answers
Your pediatrician : Will want to assess your infant for genetic & other medical causes if the velocity of weight gain is truly lower than it should be. The velocities of growth of length, weight-for-length & head circumference are also important. There are many medical & psychosocial causes of pediatric undernutrition. Diagnosis is needed for optimal treatment ( as it is for all medical & behavioral disorders).
Anytime you want: There is nothing inherently dangerous about getting hair cut. The person doing the cutting should be extremely careful with the scissors however, as babies are notorious for not sitting still when told to. Best to get some help.See 1 more doctor answer
See below: I assume you mean a forceps delivery. If so the injuries can be to the soft tissues around the baby's head, such as face and scalp. There can be tension related injuries due to the pressure used to extract the child. This can involve injuries to the nerves of the arm/neck which can result in torticolis. These injuries, and their relative risks, can be explained by your obstetrician.See 1 more doctor answer
