Is it safe to take Zantac or pepto bismol to help with heartburn caused by taking clindamycin? I have no other side effects at the moment.

NO: Pepto-bismol's active ingredient is bismuth subsalicylate; this is a chemical combination of bismuth metal & subsalicylate.
