Go ahead!: Why do you think you have food poisoning? What symptoms do you have? Taking pepto or Tums (calcium carbonate) will not do any harm but if you have no symptoms, why do you want to take these medications. It is not a good idea to take any medication, unless it is needed. ...Read more

Chinese food and MSG: Hello Ms. Cornelius. Just recall that Chinese food may contain MSG (monosodium glutamate) which is a condiment that gives that food its taste. MSG is well known among migraineurs to be a strong food trigger so beware. Nowadays, you can request MSG free menu items. Pepto Bismol, (bismuth subsalicylate) GasX, and other OTC products are fine for bloated feelings. Just don't overdo those either. ...Read more
