Need To Diagnose The: Cause of ulcer (pu). Bacteria called helicobactor pylori- the commonest cause of chronic pu. Diagnosis preferably made by GI doctor by upper GI endoscopy/biopsy, urea breath test, etc. Acute ulcer: many causes, e.g. Non-steroidal anti inflammatory agents (ibuprofen, etc), corrosive ingestion, stress/burn, etc. Treatment as per cause. True ulcer?: Was this diagnosed by direct visualization with EGD? Your doctor should have a recommendation for length of treatment. It is sometimes difficult to wean from Prilosec. If you are avoiding nsaids and have had H.pylori infection ruled out, then you may be able to wean. If you are unsure, then discuss with a physician who knows more of the history. ...Read more

Yes: Norflex is a brand of orphenadrine, which is a muscle relaxant. Panado is a brand of paracetamol sold in south africa (so i presume you live there) which is known as Acetaminophen here in the states.
