Check labs: Consider getting basic lab test done including thyroid, electrolytes and if those are normal getting worked up for endocrine issues. Yes: This is simple arithmetic. If you are taking in more calories than you are consuming you will gain weight, and to the contrary if you're taking in less you will lose weight.
