Post penis biopsy advice? When can you start having sex again?

Post penis biopsy advice? When can you start having sex again?

Ask your Dr.: The answer for this would depend about how large the biopsy was, what part of the penis was biopsied (just the skin or part of the deeper tissues). Your doctor who did your operation shold give you the guidance you need. At the very least, i would think you would want to avoid sexual relations until after you have had your follow up visit with the doctor. ...Read more

Stitches on penis from biopsy. Received oral and stitches were ripped. It's been 10 days since the procedure. What should I do?

See surgeon ASAP: I would imagine that your surgeon didn't anticipate your having oral sex while still with stiches in your penis. As anyone's mouth is full of bacteria, this was a bad idea, and if the stiches ripped it might be a worse one. I would seek an urgent appointment and in the meantime wash thoroughly and keep it clean until you see the surgeon. ...Read more

I have been diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum(through biopsy)on penis? How serious is this?i have 7-8 tiny bumps, whats the cure?can i masturbate?

Self heals: Molluscum is triggered by a virus relative of the common wart virus. It will generally self heal over a 6m to 1 yr period. You likely got some virus on your fingers and transferred it to your penis. It can spread with trauma. Some are using mild steroid cream to speed cure but results are inconsistent.Application of wart destroying chemicals is painful and leaves scars. Most leave it alone. ...Read more

Why stitches open up? I had biopsy excision to remove a lump on base of penis. What is the best option to close up the wound again.

Why stitches open up? I had biopsy excision to remove a lump on base of penis. What is the best option to close up the wound again.

Pulled through flesh: A stitch pierces through flesh on each side of an incision. If the flesh is fragile, if the flesh is only a small amount, or if there is tension on the flesh, the stitch can pull through the flesh. If the stitch is new, a patient can call the surgeon right away, to see if something else can be done to close the opened spot today. If the stitch is older, the doctor might let the wound heal "as is". ...Read more

2 lesions biopsyed; No HPV. Another grew on penis. Very flat, not like cauliflower, barely raised. Not reactive to acetic acid. Is it HPV? If not, w

Not HPV: Biopsy is the "gold standard" for diagnosis of warts or HPV infection. So for sure that's not it. But there are several other causes of skin growths, on the penis or anywhere else. The doctor who did the biopsy is in a far better position to tell you what you the diagnosis than a distant forum doctor who can't examine you. ...Read more

Can perivascular dermatitis leave thinng scarring severely sensensitve skin on glans and under penis for years biospy said that it was but never ictch?

Here are someā€¦: Clinically, at least, I would like to congratulate for not being skin malignancy. Perivascular dermatitis is merely a descriptive term as seen on the microscope. But how this may be correlated with clinical picture is still unclear and how to manage your current condition is also uncertain. In facing current dilemma, One has to consider the balance between medical necessity and pro-possibility. ...Read more

Had biospy five years ago 3 different seems still no answer says I had perivascalur dermititis on glans and under gland of penis no itching pain scars?

Good news: Don't expect anything more. This rules out cancer / worrisome precancer, lichen sclerosus and a few others. This is typical of a nonspecific dermatitis. Chances are you'll manage the symptoms to stay comfortable and never get a definitive diagnosis. ...Read more

Had a ultrasound last week. Have edometrial stripe of 6.1,small complex cyst, and mild free fluid in pelvis. Scheduled for end/biopsy. Worried!

Probably normal: The endometrial stripe measurement would be thick if you were past menopause. The biopsy is to check the tissue and make sure nothing worrisome is occurring. The cyst may be resolving on it's own (which is why the free fluid in the pelvis) but may be followed with ultrasound. If no resolution further evaluation may be necessary. ...Read more

Can lichen sclerosus happen to a circumcised penis as I been on numerous creams lotions over the years and biospy showed post inflammatory changes?

Yes: This is a diagnosis seen on the head (glans) of the penis, typically young boys. Antihistamine does not reduce the itch and does nothing for this. Hydrocortisone cream is fine if it helps, but probably won't. Best remedy is clobetasol ointment. If it helps, you may need it for a long time. Circumcision is not relevant. ...Read more

Penis skin cracked and peeled badly on glans and under leaving paler skin painful sensitivity to anything biospy no lichen sclerous psoriasis etc help?

Try...: Great; chronic protracted benign skin conditions and skin cancer are ruled out with biopsy, now, it's logical to handle with keeping the affected area from further chemical and physical irritations if any, applying thin 1% Hydrocortisone cream daily x 7 days and see. If it's related with long foreskin, do circumcision. Detial? See doc timely. But it's hard to make DX without a direct look at it. ...Read more

I saw a surgeon for the 7 neck nodes. He ordered 4 biopsy's and CT of neck, chest, abdomen & pelvis and tons of bloodwork. Is this a "normal" reaction?

Probably...: The surgeon has the benefit of taking your history and examining you and possibly the results of the biopsies which would justify the seeming "extensive" evaluation. I would not doubt this or attempt to second-guess. Be thankful your surgeon appears to be thorough. ...Read more
