I'm pretty sure I have penile psoriasis but I need clarity. I do have images. Experiencing a large amount of scaling/cracking. Redness/dryness.

Psoriasis on Penis: Penile psoriasis appears as many small, dry red lesions on the glans or shaft of the penis. The usual scales that are associated with psoriasis are normally not present on the penis. The skin may be scaly, or smooth and shiny, and can be found on circumcised or uncircumcised penises. Is dermarest for psoriasis safe to use on penis for skin wondering because of salicylic acid it contain would it cause problems?

I have psoriasis on my penis and was told not to use betamethasone, which clears it up quickly. Why not, since it works?

I have psoriasis on my penis and was told not to use betamethasone, which clears it up quickly. Why not, since it works?

Risk of atrophy: Steroids are classified by there potency. For example Betamethasone dipropionate is high and Betamethasone valerate is mid.

Potency is also altered by whether the steroid is an ointment or a cream. Short periods of treatment are okay but extended use of potent steroids increases risk of irreversible skin atrophy (thinning). Therefore very important to follow advice of a dermatologist. ...Read more
