Need laparoscopy: You need to have a GYN MD consider a laparoscopy to look for Endometriosis and other pelvic abnormalities, because these symptoms are characteristic of the same. Dysmenorrhea or: painful periods are not uncommon in young women and can be primary, not having an underlying cause, or secondary, related to infection or possible endometriosis. Do a pg test!: Check a pg test to be sure, anytime your period is abnormal, in length, symptoms, or timing. Repeat in a week and if negative, and you miss another period, see your doc to find out why. Follow the instructions on the kit, and be sure it has not expired, too. Not till 21: The USPST recommends Pap test once every 3-5 year for women 21-65. They no longer recommend a yearly test. However, they also recommend women younger than 25 who are sexually active get screened for sexually transmitted diseases even if they do not engage in high risk activity. Not if negative : Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. See doctor: Depending on when the pain started and when your period is due there are many causes of pelvic pain. The only way to figure this out is to see your doctor for a physical exam and possible testing. If you have never had unprotected intercourse then there is no way you would have PID. ...Read more
