Yes!: Pediatric surgery is a specialty. The surgeon has special training, and the nurses will set up different instruments depending on the type of surgery that is needed. Pediatric surgery (Tip)

Be aware that there are specialists in all areas these days. This applies to rehabilitation from surgery or injuries as well. I would advise you to seek out the experts and then let their advice become your routine. Time and space separate you from whatever initiated the damage. Focus on what you have and then go from there. Some of us will pass through life without splitting a toenail. Most of the rest of us are not so lucky. ...See more

In your opinion, which specialty has the smartest docs? The nicest? The least nice? My vote: smartest = pathology; nicest = pediatrics; least nice = it's a tie: endocrinology and vascular surgery.

In your opinion, which specialty has the smartest docs? The nicest? The least nice? My vote: smartest = pathology; nicest = pediatrics; least nice = it's a tie: endocrinology and vascular surgery.

Value judgments: Being human, physicians have varying personalities ("niceness") and all have intelligence or they wouldn't be in medicine. People have value judgments, though. For instance, many physicians told me i was "too smart" to go into psychiatry. Should we make similar judgments about 43 year old men from athens ga -- saying they're not as nice or as smart as women from atlanta? I think not. :-). ...Read more

4 month old diagnosed with (1) left testicle atrophy (2) right testicle hydrocele with normal blood flow during ultrasound examination and report from radiologist and pediatrics. Can surgery be performed for left testicle atrophy for 4 month old?

4 month old diagnosed with (1) left testicle atrophy (2) right testicle hydrocele with normal blood flow during ultrasound examination and report from radiologist and pediatrics. Can surgery be performed for left testicle atrophy for 4 month old?

Yes, but not urgent: Usually, babies' testicles can move around. Sometimes a testis is above the scrotum at birth, and comes down later, or it is in the scrotum at birth, and gets pulled up above the scrotum a little later. Testis hydrocoele (water around a testis) is not that uncommon, and many times the water goes away on its own. A pediatric urologist can take an initial look anytime and do surgery later if needed. ...Read more
