I have 3 lumps in my neck for years. 2 are soft, movable and pea sized. The other is hard and doesn't move. Should cancer be a concern?

Swollen lymph node: A persistently swollen node is concerning and needs to be worked up. Your ENT will likely order a biopsy (FNA, fine needle or open). It is important to understand what process is going on. A pathologist will review your biopsy and hopefully provide answers. Cancer is possible and should be ruled out with the biopsy. ...Read more

I've a pea size lump on left side of my neck over a year.it was a pimple. Nw ts about 1cm. I've no other problems.its not painful.slightly movable.

Probably ok but >>: Usually lymph nodes less than 1 cm are insignificant, and those over 2 centimeters are more worry some. In a young healthy patient with no other symptoms, and no increase in the size of the lymph node over one year, it's unlikely that this 1 cm lymph node is significant.

You need an examination to evaluate for lymph node enlargement in other sites. Dr will decide if you need is you need a biopsy. ...Read more

He has a lump on the back of his neck, it is almost 15 years old, it was a silent pea sized lump with no pain. But he is feeling pain in it sin?

Have it checked: It's hard to evaluate such a question online, but it's possible it could be a cyst of some sort or even an enlarged lymph node or even something else. My best advice would be to have his doctor take a look at it and that way he or she would also be able to do a more thorough exam on the rest of him as well to see if there could be involvement of other parts of the body. Best wishes. ...Read more

I have two small pea size lumps on either side of my neck towards the bottom just above my collarbone. These are painless but growing slightly. Help?

Needs to be checked: These bumps as these are growing bigger need to be checked by your doctor. These may be lymph glands and can be caused by infection or another disease in the lymph nodes. Sometimes we leave them alone and watch and other times we remove and examine(biopsy) to find what it may be. There are other possibilities like cysts or othet kind of tumors. I suggest you get it checked by your doctor ...Read more

I have a hard, pea sized lump right side of my neck towards the back.noticed 3 months ago, not got bigger or smaller.does it sound serious?

Probably not cancer: IF the lesion has not been growing, it is reasonable to observe this over time. If it grows or new ones occur, I suggest being seen. This could be a noncancerous lymph node or a cyst beneath the skin. If it does not move about under the skin when you push on it and it appears to have a tiny black spot in the middle, it is probably a skin cyst. ...Read more

Superficial or Deep?: Have the pediatrician see what he thinks. Children tend to be sick until they are about 10, so lymph glans can be present — good that it is not sensitive. If pediatrician unsure he can refer you for further W/U. From your description a serious problem seems unlikely, but nothing is impossible in medicine. Could be a hair follicle. ...Read more
