Probably ok but >>:
Usually lymph nodes less than 1 cm are insignificant, and those over 2 centimeters are more worry some. In a young healthy patient with no other symptoms, and no increase in the size of the lymph node over one year, it's unlikely that this 1 cm lymph node is significant.

Have it checked: It's hard to evaluate such a question online, but it's possible it could be a cyst of some sort or even an enlarged lymph node or even something else. My best advice would be to have his doctor take a look at it and that way he or she would also be able to do a more thorough exam on the rest of him as well to see if there could be involvement of other parts of the body. Best wishes. ...Read more

I have a hard, pea sized lump right side of my neck towards the back.noticed 3 months ago, not got bigger or smaller.does it sound serious?
Probably not cancer: IF the lesion has not been growing, it is reasonable to observe this over time. If it grows or new ones occur, I suggest being seen. This could be a noncancerous lymph node or a cyst beneath the skin. If it does not move about under the skin when you push on it and it appears to have a tiny black spot in the middle, it is probably a skin cyst. ...Read more
