Pea Sized Lump In Breast
33 years old clear mammo 4 months ago, recently found pea sized lump in breast and chest pain. Can mammo be wrong?
Not wrong, not seen: Not every tissue type can be seen on mammography. Up to 10% of cancers may not be seen on mammo and not seen on ultrasound. Hi im 16. I've found a small pea sized lump inside my breast, could it be cancer? Or just a blocked tube or something?
Need exam, bx: A mass usually requires biopsy. At the young age you mention it will usually be benign, such as a fibroadenoma, but medical examination is needed, possibly mammography. Cancer at your age would be unusual. Benign fibroadenomata are more likely at your age, but care has to be exercised and surgical biopsy is probably necessary for identification. Some follow up by md at your age usually safe. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
