34/f hist of pcos. Taking metformin. Tracking cycles for 3 months. Positive OPK cd21 w/dark (almost black) spotting. Is this a true positive result?
Sounds like it: If you do a home ovulation kit and it is positive there is no good reason to think that it is a false positive. You could have a Progesterone blood test done by your doctor 7 days after the positive result. If the level is above 10 then it is a true test indicating you did ovulate. You could also check a pregnancy test in 10-14 days. Good luck. ...Read more

Hi having Pcos taking metformin & ginette 35 from 7 months. Now I want to conceive ,can I start taking Clomid (clomiphene) with metformin?
Discuss with Dr: You may not need Clomid (clomiphene) to conceive after stopping Ginette. Some PCOS patients are able to ovulate and conceive just on Metformin and/or with weight loss. Try using ovulation predictor kit. iHowever, if you have been actively trying to conceive without success (on prenatal vitamins), see a Dr with expertise on infertility for further evaluation and possible treatment with Clomid (clomiphene). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Trying to conceive having pcos and taking metformin, every month i got dark brown blood in start and end of periods is it normal?
Can be normal: The good news is that you are getting a monthly cycle! if you have a day or two of dark spotting right before or at the end of your period that can be normal, as long as the total length is still 7 days or less. Dark just means old. So when the flow is slow, the blood has more time to change color before it comes out. If you have more than 7 days of bleeding, get checked out by your gyn. ...Read more
