Ovulation testing: PCOS patients often do not ovulate. If you are having regular cyclic periods now then you may be ovulating. Ovulation testing is the next step. I'm diagnosis with pcos and using metformin+ocp, when my period is over, i had another one after 1 week, I'm very worried is it real period or bleedin
Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time) is very common on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time. If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working. ...Read more
Today is day 9 on my period. It is only when i wipe after i pee and is brown. What could this be? I am 30 y.O. And have pcos. I take metformin in hopes to help get pregnant. My periods are usually regular and last 7 days. This period was a little heavier
This : This type of bleeding is a result of an anovulatory cycle (meaning you did not ovulate this month). The uterine lining builds up and sheds in an abnormal pattern when this happens. The brown blood is usually old blood that has been "stuck" in the uterus for longer than a month, and when it finally comes out it is brown in color. Keep up with the metformin, try to lose weight, and follow up with your doctor. Best of luck. ...Read more
