In polycystic ovaries if I have regular menses and menses continu till 12 days is this harmfull for ovaries?
Still possible: Irregular periods are caused when your body's signals for ovulation and menstruation get confused by hormonal imbalances that can be related to your thyroid (TSH), pituitary (LH/FSH/prolactin), ovaries (estrogen/progesterone). Many external factors can affect the hormones: malnutrition, stress, obesity, for example. Diet and exercise can get ovulation back on track. See a GYN though. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How long does metformin take to regularize cycles and ovulation?(pcos patient with irregular ovulation)
Can you ovulate few days after your period has just finished have pcos so irregular periods on metformin since march how do I know when i'm ovulating?
No: Ovulation does not occur soon after menses. The problem is that women with pcos can have bleeding that is not infact menstrual bleeding, but rather is abnormal bleeding that is out of sync with the normal cycle. I recommend you see your gyn as despite metformin treatment your cycles are still irregular. Treatments can include clomid, (clomiphene) ovarian drilling, increasing metformin dosage, excercise, etc. ...Read more

I have PCOS, regular periods. Now missed period for 3 days can i be pregnant or it is symptoms of PCOS?
Hard to tell: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If a woman's normal period comes near the expected time, she's presumed not pregnant. ...Read more

I menstruated on sep 7.I have irregular periods after Depo-Provera and stillbirth, doc put me on metformin. No pcos just a little insulin resistance when will i ovulate? Ttc
See a REI specialist: Sorry about the stillbirth. Insulin resistance can be part of pcos or type 2 diabetes. Depending on how long you took the depo shot and when you stopped, it could still be affecting your periods. A reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist can figure out why you're irregular and determine whether and when you're ovulating based on your history, with blood tests and/or ultrasound scans. ...Read more

Missed 3 periods and on medroxyprogesterone to start period and still no period. What is wrong with me?
Can flutamide cause hormonal imbalance and missed periods? I took it for 45 days to treat hirutism and I have regular periods.
F is antiandrogen Rx: and mainly is used to block the action of androgens on androgen sensitive tissue cells, and is mainly used for prostate cancer. It has been shown to cause elevation of blood levels of testosterone and estradiol, and hormonal effects such as enlarged breasts can be a side effect, so it clearly has hormonal affects, and I assume, could cause missed periods. Use in women is off label. ...Read more
