Pcos And Iui Success
3rd iui with clomid (clomiphene) and ovidrel and unexplained infertility, wife is 34. Low chance of success? Losing hope and ashamed.
Pcos is a metabolic disorder affecting 8-10% of women that may cause irregular periods, acne or increased hair growth, infertility or subfertility, and increases the risk of diabetes. To diagnose pcos, we need 2 out of 3 of: 1. Irregular or no periods 2. Acne, hair growth and/or blood tests showing too much male-type hormones (androgens) 3. Ultrasound showing large ovaries ...Read more
What are the ovulation success rates on low (50iu) FSH injections in Clomid (clomiphene) resistance patients?
Good rates, long tim: Fsh will usually stimulate the ovaries very well. The concern is that too many eggs will stimulate and that is why we use a low dose protocol when not doing ivf. The key is patience. It may take 3-4 weeks of injections before the ovulation will occur. If little effect the dose is increased. Sometimes too many eggs will become mature anyway and the cycle will need to be cancelled. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Diminished ovarian reserve with low egg supply. Would u rec Clomid (clomiphene) with IUI or injectable with iui. I am 35 years old?
Yes, IVF is better: At age 39 with DOR, you may try few cycles Clomid (clomiphene) IUI, but IVF is a better option. The reason is with DOR, you don't have many embryos to work with. On the other hand, if you do IVF, you may bank embryos and do FET later. At age 39, I strongly recommend to do Pre-implantation genetic screening (PGS) of your embryos prior to transfer. It will increase your change of pregnancy and reduce miscarriage ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have pcos my hubby has low sperm count, is monitered cycle with Clomid (clomiphene) hCG & IUI enough or would injectable meds work better/faster to get pregnant?
What are the chances of ovulation with Clomid (clomiphene) and chances of pegnancy with Clomid (clomiphene) I am having pcos ttc ?
Are injectibles with IUI more successful than Clomid (clomiphene) with iui? We are thinking about doing our first round of IUI with Clomid (clomiphene) only.
Some patient groups: In some patient populations, and for some diagnoses 'yes, ' for others success rates are pretty similar. Injectible drugs always have a significantly higher chance of multiple conception than oral drugs. ...Read more
5 failed IUI with letrozole, mild endo removed by laparoscopy, one miscarriage but conceived naturally after 2 yrs. IVF next or Iui with injectables?
No more IUI: Since you've failed 5 IUIs, it is no longer a good option for you, especially for someone with endometriosis. One reason patients with endometriosis not able to conceive naturally, is because the endometriosis will cause pelvic adhesion and tubal dysfunction. IVF is a much better option. If you are afraid of using drugs, you may choose natural cycle IVF or mild stimulation IVF. ...Read more
How much higher are our chances of getting pregnant with clomid, (clomiphene) hCG shot, OPK and IUI rather than just clomid, (clomiphene) opk, and iui????
Tried 6 cycle of clomid (clomiphene) & 2 ivf's but unsuccessful. Pcos diagonsed with 11 cc in right ovary and 15cc in left ovary. Is laproscopy a good option? TTC
On average what is the success rate over 3 cycles of IUI for couples with unexplained infertility?
Average is 3-4 trys: 6 cycles of IUI on injectable medications costs around the same as one cycle of ivf. One takes 6+ months and ivf takes 6 weeks. Here is the "rub". 6 cycles of IUI is not as successful as 1 cycle of ivf. So it is a choice. By doing iui, you "gamble" that it works in 2-3 attempts and save money; but if not, than ultimately it costs more because when IUI does not work, you have to go to ivf. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

5th IUI yesterday done with Clomid and higher dose of Gonal F (follitropin alfa). 33 million sperm and 2 follicles this IUI. Can this work or IVF required? Unexplained
Variable: Iui with HCG can give you a pregnancy rate of between 1-20% depending on the situation. Generally if it is not combined with either Clomid (clomiphene) pills or fsh injections, the pregnancy rate per month for someone age 30 is around 3-10% depending on your actual diagnosis and length of infertility. But there is a tremendous amount of variation. ...Read more
How many inseminations per cycle will be given to a women using Clomid (clomiphene) (or injectables) with iui?
One or two per cycle: One to two per cycle - if one insemination (iui) per cycle we schedule it on the day of expected ovulation (egg release), if two we do one IUI the day before ovulation as well. Two IUI is a slightly higher pregnancy rate than one, but not double. Have intercourse 2-3 times a week as well.
