Paxil Overdose Drugs
Is Paxil (paroxetine) cr a safe drug to take for dep/anxiety? There's so much negative press on it...
Paxil (paroxetine) CR: It is used w good results by many. I think that 1 issue that brings it negative press can be a discontinuation syndrome that can occur when it is stopped (especially if cold turkey). Althought this can occur w other ssri meds, it can be fairly dramatic w paxil (paroxetine). I do find that some other ssri's tend to have fewer side effects but there is a potential for side effects w any medication. Take care. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is it typical to have hypothyrodism 2 months after quiting Paxil (paroxetine) making the drug the culprit.?
Paxil (paroxetine): Paxil (paroxetine) is not associated with hypothyroidism, but sometimes hypothyroidism may exacerbate or be mistaken for depression. It's more likely you had a thyroid problem all along, but it was not diagnosed. It's certainly possible to have both depression and hypothyroidism, and both need treatment. Hoping you have not stopped your antidepressant too soon, as relapse can be more likely that way. ...Read more

Can i take cymbalta and paxil (paroxetine) cr together ? Will anyone of these drugs cause the other to not work or possibly lower its effect ?
I'm 23 years old and had panic dsorders. I'm taking clonazepan 1 mg and Paxil (paroxetine) 10 mg. Its possible 2 quit those drugs someday? Its being very hard.
A worrisome question: Factors that affect choice of treatment (tx) include age, other meds being taken, and presence of medical problems (such as liver impairment). Symptoms include GI problems, changes in heart rate and blood pressure (bp), problems breathing, and liver and kidney impairment. Tx's include stomach pump, IV fluids, BP medications, seizure meds, and breathing support. Prevention is best treatment! ...Read more
My doc just prescribed Paxil (paroxetine) 20mg and Metopropol Tartrate 50mg.Take one of each daily. Is this in any way a DANGEROUS combo of drugs? I am scared! :(
My BP is 160/10 under stress. 20 mg Paxil drops but makes ejaculation problem. I am on 5 mg bystolic (nebivolol) and BP is 12/8. Which drug should I use?
Is there a drug that works as good as Paxil (paroxetine) for anxiety and panic? Have had luck with it in past but gained huge amount of weight. Zoloft was a no go
CBT: Most SSRIs and medications used for more than very short term anxiety control involve risk of weight gain and many are not successful for the symptom anyway. Whatever you use and it may be possible to side step meds, find a CBT therapist you can work well with. Learn skills to deal w/ those issues. Best! ...Read more
Having a hard time getting off Paxil (paroxetine) 10 mg. is there another drug I can transition to without weight gain? Harder withdrawl than klonopin. Suggestions
A couple suggestions: Are you actually looking to transition to another drug or are you trying to come off all together? You could try transitioning to citalopram which doesn't tend to be as difficult to stop as Paxil (paroxetine) but is related enough that you should still have some relief of your mental symptoms. Another one to consider transitioning to would be sertraline. Weight gain isn't that big an issue with either of those ...Read more
Working w docs but is there any other drug besides Paxil (paroxetine) that doesn't cause lots of weight gain and major constipation? I tried lexapro, not good.
Bupropion: Bupropion or Wellbutrin (bupropion) is the antidepressant thought to be associated with less weight gain and, fortunately, fewer sexual side effects as well. In addition, an older class of anti-depressants, tricyclics including amitriptyline, do not typically cause weight gain. Finally, a less often used class of anti-depressants, MAO inhibitors, may be worth consideration. Work with your doctor. Good luck:) ...Read more
Used Paxil (paroxetine) 8 yrs. For depression. Was fired from 2 jobs. I believe drug caused aggressive behavior at work. Anyone heard of this side effect?
Paxil (paroxetine) & aggression?: Ssri antidepressants generally calm aggression rather than increasing it. A small percentage of patients (3-5%) may experience agitation on the medication. There have been legal arguments about the "agitation" manifesting as aggression. On the other hand, depression itself may cause irritability and angry outbursts. ...Read more
Why are drugs like Xanax and klonipin frowned upon to use
daily in small doses vs drugs like Zoloft and Paxil (paroxetine) that are
recommended by doctors. ?
Xanax was prescribed to me to use when needed? I take a antidepressant, paxil (paroxetine). Both were miracle drugs and solved about all depression/anxietyissues
Not sure of question: Depression/anxiety often go together.Several medications can be used as part of treatment of both problems. Paxil (paroxetine) is a good choice for both problems. Xanax can be appropriate for short term use at low doses for anxiety. However it can easily create tolerance and dependence, so dosing amount and frequency is critical to know. Also, it is important to also use nondrug treatments to manage these issues. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
