Was given 10 mg Paxil (paroxetine) for anxiety can I start by cutting in 1/2 at 5mg and stick with that?

Yes, but: It's perfectly fine to take 5mg of Paxil (paroxetine) but I doubt that it will have much effect on anxiety at that dose. If 10mg is working why lower the dose? ...Read more

I have been on Paxil (paroxetine) for anxiety for 12 years. I tried to come of slowly but the symptoms were worse than the anxiety. Suggestions?

Paxil (paroxetine): You will need to come off very slowly and i always advise patients to increase their exercise duing this time and to supplement wiht a b-50 vitamin as the b vitamins regulate your nervous system. Will Paxil (paroxetine) help anxiety/depression? I have been on celexa and citolapram. I wanna cure panic/anxiety/stress. Im starting Paxil (paroxetine) in the am.

It will help.: May make you feel less anxious within a day or two. This is due to its calming side effect. That's why Paxil (paroxetine) is best used at bed. (only in am if you work nights). Helps you relax and sleep, which is an important part of healing and getting better, while the true antidepressant effect begins in 2-3 weeks out. But don't worry, restful nights & reducing anxiety is the start of recovery. ...Read more

DM better avoided!: The dm in musinex dm is dextromethorphan that interacts with Paxil (paroxetine) in ways that could be very serious, so it should not be taken while taking paxil. Musinex d would be a much safer alternative. Suggest seeing your primary care provider if symptoms become worse or are not improving. ...Read more
