I switch from cymbalta (duloxetine) 90mg to Zoloft 50mg by tapering cymbalta (duloxetine) but after 10 dayes i finish my last 30 mg cymbalta (duloxetine) but i can't sleep even with trazadon?
May take longer. : Zoloft and Cymbalta (duloxetine) are actually very different from each other. Cymbalta (duloxetine) is very potent and works on two different receptors (serotonin ; norepinephrine ) and many people take longer to get off of it. Zoloft works mostly on one (receptor) and 50 mg is a low dose. Talk to your doctor about this. ...Read more
What could cause frequent pvcs (benign) daily? Bupropion XL 150mg 3x daily, Prozac (fluoxetine) 20mg, or the combo? Also take 200mg modafinil, levothroid 88mcg.
Your medications: The Modafinil is a stimulant which can cause abnormal hearth rhythms. Your levothroid, if not properly dosed could do it as well, ask your doctor for a blood test to make sure that dose is not too high for you. Being 58 years old, you could have heart problems unrelated to the medications. You should see a doctor to get this evaluated. ...Read more
Get second opinion: The combination could readily backfire, as the Elavil (amitriptyline) and Ativan can both cause anti-cholinergic side effects, and additive sedation, lethargy, and dizziness. Both very low dose, but nonetheless may cause more problems than success. Not clear why these two have been started together. ?Psych Concierge appt? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Any hypertensive meds that don't cause hair loss? Vasotec, lebatalol, diovan, bystolic (nebivolol) work but cause hair loss. Benicar doesn't reduce dystolic #.
Unusual side effect: I have treated pts for forty years, and i can't remember that complained of hair loss after starting any of these agents. That does not mean it never happens (one lesson i've learned in medicine is never say never). Every drug has a huge list of adverse effects because each one a pt complains of in a study gets listed. Vasotec is an ace, Diovan (valsartan) & Benicar r arb's, same effects. Hair loss unlikely. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Lopressor (metoprolol tartrate) 25 mg made me feel bad. Propranolol made me feel fine but i need a selective beta blocker. Which should I try?
Atenolol: Try atenolol - 12.5 to 100 mg (25 to 50 mg are the most usual doses). Atenolol is a beta 1 specific beta blocker that has the least ability to cross the blood brain barrier of all available beta blockers. It has no intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. It is intrinsically long acting and generally is given as a once a day dose. It's also dirt cheap! ...Read more
