Can I take solpadeine tablets with targin 5mg for severe pain regards Paul?

Can I take solpadeine tablets with targin 5mg for severe pain regards Paul?

Yes you can.: Solpadeine is tylenol with caffeine. Targin is a trade name for oxycodone with naloxone (the former is an opiate analgesic, the latter is a receptor blocker to prevent addiction or overdose). Solpadeine will augment the 5mg targin and make it work better without any severe side effects in the short term, with the possible exception of caffeine induced insomnia. ...Read more

What does "adequate hydration" have to do with preventing vomiting? [not dehydrat from, paul cohen? ]

What does "adequate hydration" have to do with preventing vomiting? [not dehydrat from, paul cohen? ]

Nothing: When vomiting you must provide adequate hydration; otherwise you will become dehydrated. If you are not able to keep fluids down and replace the losses you would need to be in the hospital getting IV fluids until the problem is passed and you can again take your fluids orally. To prevent vomiting you may need assistance with medications such as phenergan (promethazine). ...Read more

One dr one your board (Paul grin) says the mortality rate for cleft palate surgery is 1 in 300 while another says 1 in 100, 000. Huge discrepancy. Why?

One dr one your board (Paul grin) says the mortality rate for cleft palate surgery is 1 in 300 while another says 1 in 100, 000. Huge discrepancy. Why?

Studies: I cannot speak for any doctor nor the actual figures reported. First, I do not believe there is any consensus on the figures as such studies of mortality rate for this procedure are scarce and will vary based upon who does the study, the size of the sampling, the geographic sampling, the year of the study, how the information was collected, etc. Concentrate on the need and benefit of the surgery. ...Read more

Hey I'm Paul and 16 yrs. I was playing soccer and while running I hurt my toe it isn't swollen or red put hurts when I try to walk on it?

Let it recover...: You need to stay off of it, apply ice to the area in question rest and elevate it. If the problem does not improve in a day, you should have it evaluated. If the toe improves, then you can hold off for another day or two. As long as the toe is improving with time, it is probably not seriously injured. To remove all doubt have your family doctor or a Healthtap specialist evaluate it. ...Read more

What is the difference between Stephen Johnson diease and and the syndrome I can't find anything about the diease which I was diagnosed with?

Erythema Multiforme: Erythema Multiforme (EM minor) is a type of allergic reaction that occurs via a distinct and separate mechanism from immediate hypersensitivity reactions (hives). The rash is longer lasting, and generally does not respond to antihistamines. Will amoxicillin cause Stephen Johnson syndrome I going to family dr face swollen I think tooth infection but med phobic bad and dental phobia?

Probably Not: Stephens-Johnson syndrome is a rare disease that affects fewer than six people per million per year.
Unless you have had SJS before, with amoxicillin or another drug, the chances you will get it are vanishingly small. See your dentist immediately. Perhaps he can treat you without giving you an antibiotic. He can definitely avoid amoxicillin if this is a worry for you. Good luck ...Read more

Should I be concerned if my stepson, 17 1/2 yrs old, still sleeps with a stuffed animal. He even packs it with him for vacations.?

Unsure: What is the harm? If it doesn't cause any harm, I wouldn't worry about it. Has he been through some trauma? Sometimes, people need something to help calm them, and decrease anxiety. Perhaps he just likes having something under his arm- some people sleep with a pillow there. In the long run, I don't think it's a problem unless *he's* concerned or it prevents him from interacting with others.. ...Read more

I used to have back pain. Can I use the stepper machine to lose weight? . Or is it harmful for my back?

I used to have back pain. Can I use the stepper machine to lose weight? . Or is it harmful for my back?

Yes: A stepper machine should be fine, especially if progressively increased in difficulty. For my patients with back/joint pain, I generally recommend avoiding impact activities such as running. Unfortunately, any activity has the potential for causing pain, but in most cases the pain does not mean that any damage is being done. See your physician if you are unable to exercise without severe pain. ...Read more

Pain in feet when urinating seems really odd. My stepson (45 years old) has severe pain on the bottom of both feet when urinating. Doesn't matter standing or sitting. Any ideas?

If: If his pain only occurs when urinating, what comes to mind is, believe it or not, a problem with his prostate. The prostate gland is located just atop nerves that come from the legs & feet and lead to the spinal cord. Since muscles push against the prostate during urination, it is possible this can cause referred pain at any point in the feet or legs. Admitedly, this is a stretch, and honestly, this is a very unusual symptom. His best bet is to start with his general medical doctor and get a psa blood level drawn as well as a digital prostate exam. If both of those tests are negative, an EMG (electromyography) and ncv (nerve conduction velocity) should be performed to test the nerves connecting the spinal cord with the feet and legs. ...Read more
