Start with PT: For tendinitis, anti-inflammatory medicines will help with the pain. But the real treatment is to stretch and strengthen the tendon. This is best done with formal physical therapy. Yes, start slow: Yes, you can resume running. I would make sure you are using shoes with adequate cushioning, in general running shoes need to be changed every 300-400 miles.
