Patella Removed Will Able Walk Problem
It depends: The removal of the patella called patellectomy is a rare operation and has consequences for walking and other activities. When exercising or walking patella shifts. Difficult to walk for extended time or use stairs. Can this lead to dislocation if not stabilized?
Unlikely, but U may: Get subluxation. See a pcp, or specifically an orthopod to get a DX made. Physical therapy to increase specific muscles to be stronger maybe helpful. If subluxation symptoms are recurring then a lateral release will help. Dislocation is uncommon, except with an injury. Then it'll be treated in a cast or with surgery depending on an examination. So discuss with your orthopod. Good luck. ...Read more

It is one of the most common complaints orthopedist see. At this point i would try hamstring, quadriceps, and iliotibial band stretching exercises. Mild anti-inflammatories and ice after activities. If this doesn't help i would go see a physician. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
