I used sinex nasal spray and drank dayquil for my cough and nose congestion did i over dose? I feel fine

I used sinex nasal spray and drank dayquil for my cough and nose congestion did i over dose? I feel fine

Unlikely: It is unlikely to overdose on the sinex nasal spray (oxymetazoline) but it should not be used longer than a few days as a person can develop rhinitis medicamentosa (become dependent). If the dose of dayquil taken was that given on the bottle, then not an overdose. If symptoms persist, consider evaluation by healthcare provider to determine cause of symptoms and additional treatment. ...Read more

I started Avamys nasal spray 2 days ago. Since 10 hours after the 2nd dose I've had pain and bruising in the left side of my nose. What should I do?

Unexpected: It is not an expected side effect from using nasal steroid. Nonetheless you need to stop using it and ask your doctor to check your spraying technique and perhaps try a nasal antihistamine spray. I am also concerned as to whether you are having a severe sinus infection at the left as well. ...Read more

Im addicted to nasal spray. Is this bad?

YES.: Over the counter nose sprays, like afrin or neosynephrine, are damaging, inflamatory, and quite addictive. Three or 4 days, at most, with a bad cold, is ok, but beyond that, the nasal swelling 'rebounds', and we begin to use the spray more frequently, and get hooked. I start such patients on a nasal steroid spray, and a 10 day tapered course of an oral steroid, which always cures this addiction. ...Read more
