Do parlodel and Clomid (clomiphene) work well?

Do parlodel and Clomid (clomiphene) work well?

Yes: Parlodel is a good treatment for hyperprolactinemia (too much prolactin hormone), and some patients conceive with it alone or combined with other fertility treatments. Clomid (clomiphene) can be used to induce ovulation (egg release) in many women who don't have regular cycles, or to cause 2-3 eggs to ovulate instead of one. About 10% success per month in under 35's; most pregnancies in the first 3-4 months. ...Read more

Am having high prolactin and have been using parlodel (bromocriptine) for3yrs and still high. Pls I really wish to conceive?

Not a problem: First you need to make sure you know why the level is high. If you are not having regular cycles and the medicine cannot control them, you would need something else to help you ovulate. If you have regular cycles despite the elevated prolactin then you would need a fertility evaluation to investigate more. ...Read more

What do you suggest if my doctor gave me parlodel (bromocriptine) what is it. I think he said something about harmone.?

High prolactin?: Hi. If the Parlodel (bromocriptine) was given for a hormone, you probably have a high prolactin. Assuming you didn't just deliver a baby, that's usually due to a benign tumor in the pituitary gland that secretes prolactin. The high prolactin makes your periods stop and usually causes breast milk production. It is treated with bromocriptine (or the preferred drug, cabergoline). ...Read more
