Planned Parenthood: Because you are sexually active, you should be on birth control. Planned parenthood will give you a full gynecologic history, physical, pap, and pelvic on a sliding scale according to what you can afford. The miscarriage is ancient history and is nothing to worry about. Have routine cultures for gc and chlamydia taken, and get started on your choice of birth control. ...Read more

If parents' karyotyping is normal, what are the chances for recurrent early miscarriages due to chromosomal problems in fetus? Pls answer as clearly

If parents' karyotyping is normal, what are the chances for recurrent early miscarriages due to chromosomal problems in fetus? Pls answer as clearly

Ans: There is always a possibility of a mutation. This cannot be predicted. However just because on the outside you are normal does not mean you do not carry a recessive gene. You and your partner can have gene mapping. But again remember thecwayvthe chromosomes line up is chance. But if you have abnormal genes you can put a percentage on the chance of that gene showing up. Again all a toss of the coin ...Read more

My wife had a miscarriage on her 6month.
I would like to ask if there blood miss match on the parents that caused the miscarriage?

Thanks!
elmarc o.

Doesn't sound like i: The blood 'mismatch' issue you describe sounds like isoimmunization, and those babies are at risk of death (stillbirth) more so than miscarriage. If your wife had cramping before the miscarriage: sounds like preterm labor and often we don't find out the exact cause (but infections can be a cause); if she had painless dilation of the cervix (or hx of surgery on cervix, or many d&c's):poss incomp.Cv. ...Read more

What are the chances of a healthy pregnancy at 38-both parents have gene for CF and one miscarriage 3 weeks ago.

What are the chances of a healthy pregnancy at 38-both parents have gene for CF and one miscarriage 3 weeks ago.

Odds are..: 25% of conceptions will have cf, 50% will be carriers, & 25% will not be carrying a CF gene. For a woman of 38, risk of any genetic abnormality is about 1%. Success also is affected by the age of your partner. Higher success rate if the male is younger than 40. Good luck. ...Read more

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as depression is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room. ...Read more

Had a natural miscarriage in oct and have had a normal cycle six weeks after and now I have on and off periods for five days very heavy came 10 day e?

Cycle after miscarry: After a miscarriage, the usual advice is to wait 3 months of cycling before trying again to make sure your body gets back to normal. This not unusual but I recommend that you review this with your doctor to make sure that all is well. You didn't describe the circumstances of your miscarriage so your dr would be able to make some sense out of this for you. ...Read more
