Gerd, gastritis, esophagitis for 8 months+. Omeprazole 20mg 2x a day and sucraflate 4x a day not helping. No hpylori. Suffering daily. Please help.
Complex answer: It sounds like you have a good start in treating your symptoms.I assume an endoscopy was done. Especially if there is a family history of heart disease at younger age, this should be considered. Also you should look at your gall baldder and liver function as well. Do Deglycyrrhized licorice (DGL) and zinc carnosine (Polaprezinc in Japan) work for treating acid reflux and GERD?
Unknown.: There are not good human studies for either one of them to be able to assess their effect on G.I. diseases. There do not seem to be bad side effects for zinc carnosine.
