The maximum dose may be less in some people due to liver or kidney problems. Please ask the doctor who gave the medications. Taking too much can result in liver problems, addiction, or drug dependence. ...Read more

Typical ranges are 200 to 450 mg a day. 450 mg is the maximum recommended doses because there is an increased risk of seizures above that dose. As with all antidepressants, the dose any individual needs varies and depends on condition being treated and side effects. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Hi.. I'm taking esomeprazole 40mg twice daily and mine is finished still waiting for the pharmacy to order mine.. Took last dose of 40mg last night.. Can I take pantoprazole in the mean time and go back to esomeprazole tomorrow?
Yes: These are both proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), so they work similarly. I have had patients switch from Pantoprazole to esomeprazole the next day, and then switch back to pantoprazole on occasion. It is a good idea to wean off PPIs as soon as you can. They are safe for short term use, however long term use may cause problems, so once you are feeling better ask your Dr about weaning off of it. ...Read more
