Breath: Breath in through your nostrils and fill your lungs with air. Hold for 5 count and then slowly exhale through an open mouth. Repeat x 12. Focus on your breathing. Allow your breathing to slow. The best thing i know to quickly abort marked panic or anxiety is acupuncture. Not so much: Panic attacks are sudden, discrete episodes of physical and emotional anxiety symptoms that last for 10-15 minutes and then subside. The person may have an ongoing level of anxiety, but usually not the full panic attack mode. People with panic d/o often fear having another attack. Please call your doc: If you're having panic attacks through the medications you're on, you need to contact the physician who's prescribing your Ativan (lorazepam) so s/he knows what's happening. Hopefully you're also on a medicine to prevent these attacks. You need to learn slow, deep breathing and calming as well. Psychotherapy could help reduce these attacks over time. Headache is one of: 33 symptoms of anxiety. Having it continue for months after one 3 hour panic attack is not the norm, so go to an MD for a look-see. However, you might be suffering from residual effects, or sub-panic (chronic, low level anxiety) that could very easily produce headaches. Try massage, meditation, yoga. DP/DR: Depersonalization/Derealization Disorder. You may not have panic disorder if you have never had an actual panic attack. However, the sense of having a hot flash can accompany anxiety & Panic. Panic attacks: If you are only taking Lorazepam for anxiety, and end up taking it frequently, you could be getting rebound anxiety from being dependent on benzos. I would recommend a daily med, like viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) (great for anxiety) which will reduce the number of panic attacks. Also, get tested for mthfr 677 ; 1298 genotypes-important in making your own serotonin! consider psych help to learn coping tools for panic. ...Read more

Chest Pain: needs to be diagnosed by your doc. If he/she clears you know that what you are experiencing is likely residual from your panic attacks. I see that you are on zocor, (simvastatin) which can cause muscle pain, usually in arms or legs.
