Pancytopenia (Overview)

This is a decrease in all the cell lines of your blood. Meaning the white count, hemoglobin and platelets. If someone is anemic, the hemoglobin is low. If someone us thrombocytopenic, the platelet count is low. If someone is pancytopenic, all cell lines are low. Hope this helps.

Monitor it: Whether it's worth seeking a subtle myelodysplastic syndrome is for you to decide. I trust the obvious (hypersplenism, lupus, pnh, hiv, B12 / folate (folic acid) / copper deficiency) ideas were ruled out. Trust you're not taking any folk "herbal" (they can be anything) or excess zinc. This might be time to adopt "watchful waiting" rather than seek a diagnosis. Best wishes. ...Read more

Rare: Very rare. Saw one case. Can be associated with rheumatologic conditions (sle, etc), infectious (hiv, etc), autoimmune disorder, lymphoid neoplasm (cll, etc), drug or idiopathic (diagnosis of exclusion). Mechanism: autoantibidies to all three peripheral blood cells (wbc, rbc, platelet). Itp (ab only to platelet). Evan syndrome (ab to rbc and platelet). None that I know of: Unfortunately there are no natural treatments for cancer. But mds does have a couple of chemo drugs which are relatively mild to use/tolerate. So try those. ...Read more
