Arrhythmia : Sometimes skipped heart beats knows as premature ventricular or atrial contractions (pvc, pac) cause these symptoms, these are benign. There other causes of palpitations like a supraventricular tachycardia, or ventricular tachycardia, these are more serious and should be investigated.
