Subjective awareness of once own heart beat.
May depend on doctor: A good position for a rectal exam is a one where the anus is accessible to the doctor's finger, and the doctor feels he is able to get a really good exam: lying on the side, bent over the examination table, or lying down with feet in stirrup (lithotomy position), etc... The position is not that important. What's important is that the dr. Is able to reach and feel everything he wants to examine. ...Read more
Rib pain: This may just be rib tenderness. Sometimes it is difficult to relate to any specific injury or incident. It may be as simple as a cough or sneeze or carrying something heavy and putting pressure on the area. Should be self limiting. If it continues it would be best to see PCP as you can get a rib out of place and this can cause pains as well. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Nodule seen on xray but not ct. Pain in exact spot of nodule upon palpation. Lump immobile non tender. Swollen lymph nodes? Wouldnt it show in ct?
Possibly ultrasound: Lymph node of significant size (5-10 mm) should show on ct particularly with intravenous contrast injection. It sounds like nodule is under skin. Ultrasound by scanning directly over location of nodule is often better at localizing subcutaneous nodules and discerning characterization, such as vascular, cystic, or solid. Us has also been used for guided biopsy. ...Read more

Fibroadenoma: A fibroadenoma can look like a breast cancer which is also a solid lesion. Palpation and ultrasound may not be able to differentiate them. It calls for collaboration between a breast surgeon and the radiologist, in my opinion, to determine whether a breast biopsy is indicated. ...Read more

The harder and stronger your pulse in your neck is the higher your BP probably is right? Could I have higher BP when I almost have no palpation pulse?
No connection: Although it would seem to follow that the higher your blood pressure the stronger your pulse would be, I don't believe that is the case. A week or non-palpable pulse may indicate the presence of partial or complete blockage of an artery by atherosclerosis. My guess is that you are not palpating in the correct area to feel your pulse. If you had no pulse you wouldn't be able to write us :) ...Read more
