Palmolive Bar Soap
Options: If it is easy to identify the soap brand associated with the allergy, avoidance is the best option. However, soaps can have a lot of chemicals that can be sensitizers for contact dermatitis allergy such as wool alcohols, fragrances, Cl+Me- isothiazolinone, quaternium 15, diazolidinyl urea, and imidazolidinyl urea (GERMALL 115), to name a few. Wash: Dove is considered one of the more milder soaps. Soaps are always more drying in general compared to non soap cleansers such as cetaphil or cereve cleansers which are a benefit to those with sensitive skin.
None: All soaps work the same way, by dissolving salts and oils. Whether the soap is liquid or bar they do the same thing.
Yes: Absolutely, it is recommended for adults with very sensitive skin, being hypoallergenic.

I'm sensitive to a lot of things/products so I was wondering what's a good bar of soap to wash my scalp with?
Beauticians: Are often familiar with a large number of products. The average person doesn't wash their hair with bar soap. Please consult with your esthetician ; /or your beautician for specific recommendations. Providers on healthtap have been asked not to make specific product endorsements.
Why does my skin dry out if I use bar soap but it doesn't if I use something like old spice or axe shower gel?
High pH: Cleansers with a high ph (like many soaps) can strip skin of lipids and proteins, leading to dryness, irritation, redness, and, in some cases, even broken skin leading to infection. For this reason, I tend to avoid any cleansers with a high concentration of sodium bicarbonate (with a high ph), as well as most bar soaps. Gels typically contain ingredients that lock in moisture.
I washed my hair with a bar of white dial soap. My hair is shedding more. Will this stop if I stop using a bar of soap?
Shampoo: Dial soap is too harsh and will coat your hair with soap scum. Get a moisturizing shampoo without SLS. Condition your hair with a leave in conditioner. Visit your beautician, and if it does not stop see a dermatologist
