Pale Stools Symptoms
Is surgery indicated for gallbladder that causes tenderness, pale stools? Symptoms intermittent over years. Had sand yrs ago. Also have hiatal hernia.
Maybe/Maybe not.: The anatomy of the gallbladder, pancreas and liver needs to be assessed, possibly using ultrasound to look for problems in the region. If you are not having pain, or symptoms are not thought to be related to a problem with your gallbladder then the answer wouln't be cholecystectomy. The best answer to your question would be to have a discussion with your doctor in person about this. Best wishes!See 1 more doctor answer
What could cause these symptoms: pale stool, yellow skin, flank pain, acid in mouth, and more urination than usual?
Jaundice?: Pale stool, yellow skin, & dark-colored urination suggests biliary obstruction--due perhaps to a gallstone in bile duct &/or from pancreatic inflammation. Consider significant liver disease (viral, familial, medication or alcohol-related, budd-chiari etc). Regardless of cause, please don't wait longer to get now a formal physical exam, appropriate lab studies, & if necessary medication or surgery.

Toddler' diarrhea: This is most like a harmless process called toddler's diarrhea. There are frequently several watery stools per day with frequent bits of undigested food. If the pale color persists, or the condition worsens, you will want to have your child checked by a primary care provider.

Upper GI: The studies done on you focused on your lower bowel when your upper GI area appears to be impacted. Consult a GI doctor.
Pale stools: Pale stools could be from bile duct obstruction (output of gall bladder and liver). Could be from fall stones or could be rarely from rumors blocking the duct. Needs eval by a doc if significantly pale.
Pale rider: No - constipation by itself cannot change the color of stools - that is either a function of what you eaten or sometimes from blockages of the liver ducts. Pale is subjective - you must see a physician for this as pale stools can be the sign of a serious problem - but not always.

A lack of bile in stool. This may indicate a bile duct obstruction. Certain medications, such as large doses of (kaopectate, pepto-bismol) and other anti-diarrheal drugs.
