Randomly get a throbbing feeling in the left side of my head that lasts a few seconds with no pain or other symptoms. Is this normal?
Not normal: But it doesn't necessarily mean that it's life-threatening. It likely is from a muscle spasm of the temporalis muscle, the big muscle at either side of the head. This can be related to stress or bruxism(grinding your teeth) or temporomandibular joint issues(the joint of your jaw). You should first try some relaxation techniques like meditation to see if it resolves but if it doesn't see your doc ...Read more

Normal for vertigo? Off balance, throbbing head with no pain, stiff neck, blurry vision off and on and I get a swaying sensation When I walk.
Most of the symptoms: are "normal" for vertigo, but Vertigo itself isn't "normal'. I don't usually find "stiff neck" as a symptom unless it's your body's natural attempt to lessen the symptoms. My general rule of thumb is that it should lessen in 3 days and be gone in a week or so. Meds help ease the symptoms. If you get nausea or vomiting, are falling or have numbness, tingling or weakness anywhere, get help! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Do migraines cause temple arteries to bulge a bit ? Their not noticeable but i can feel them and they pulsate. I am 18. No pain when i touch them.
No: Temporal arteries should be palpable normally. Migraine is a vascular headache intra-cranially, yet tenderness can occur extra-cranially. Migraines are also uni-lateral, one side of the head; tension headaches and other varieties may be bilateral... Temporal arteritis (ta), an autoimmune disease, can cause tenderness along the temporal artery. ...Read more
Left vein has been throbbing on and off from temple down to my ear. No pain just really scared. I'm only 17? Has been going on for a week now
Not likely dangerous: If there is no pain, it's not likely dangerous. It's probably not a vein. It's more likely a twitch in the masseter or temporalis muscles. This can be caused by excessive anxiety, caffeine and other stimulants, or electrolyte imbalances if having a lot of sweating or diarrhea and not replacing electrolytes. If none of these applies to you, or not improving after addressing them, see a doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
