Probably not: Lesions under jaw bone are in digastric triangle. The submax gland as well as nodes are present here. Lymp nodes grow slowly here and are associated with a tongue or floor of mouth Ca, not tonue blisters. A calculus in the submax duct is one of the few patholgies that cause rapid appearance of a hard submax mass. See ENT for dx and possible removal of calculus. ...Read more

There are a lot of areas of lymph nodes in the body (see pic) including in the "submandibular" space below the chin. Not necessarily: It is not unusual for a person in your age group to have more reactive lymph nodes that enlarge in response to infections and inflammation. Nodes in that area can react to dental or oral problems. Piercings that are removed often or irritated can cause this. It could also be a deep cyst, an enlarged salivary gland, and other things. Salivary gland: It is likely the salivary gland that is getting bigger or smaller with time. He may have a stone in the duct of the gland or some inflammation around the opening of the duct in the mouth. ??? Lymph node: Sounds like a lymph node which can get larger and smaller normally. Only an exam can give you a better idea, if a Dr. touches it him/her self. These normally feel rubbery, and move around a little. Best not to always rub it as this can make it stay enlarged. ...Read more
