However, there are two other possibilities: 1) he could be lying or 2) it could be oral herpes which can be transmitted down there if you had oral sex with each other. Maybe: The lab tests for herpes simplex i and ii are imperfect and subject to false positives and negatives, and HSV ii acquired on the mouth usually stays there. Infected cyst?: Something like this is usually a non-STD skin infection, like an infected sebaceous cyst, boil, folluclitis, etc. It might need additional minor surgery to improve drainage, or perhaps an antibiotic.
