Poss Canker sore: If it has recently surfaced it could be an apthous ulcer(canker sore). In that location they can be quite painful. If it lasts greater that 10 days have a dentist look at it! ...Read more

Might be ok: Have your local md or ENT evaluate it. It might just be trauma from an old bite on the tongue, or an area where the tongue rubs on a sharp tooth. However, any lump in the mouth or throat, especially if enlarging with time, needs to be checked out. ...Read more

Tongue lesion: Greetings. The tongue lesion on the tip is probably a benign fibroma. This most commonly occurs from self induced biting trauma. This may have occurred at night while you are asleep. Sialolith: Most likely it is a sialolith which is a small white calcified stone which can block your salivary duct (a duct where your saliva flows out from under your tongue) and cause the area to swell up and become painful.
