Yes: It takes time for the inflamed tissue to heal both from where the surgery was done and from around the nerve that was injured. Then it will take time for the nerve itself to heal. I just had this discussion with my hand surgeon. The nerve heals approximately 1-2 mm a day not counting the first month after surgery. Give it time. ...Read more

Depends: This can be a systemic disease process (neuropathy, hiv) affecting multiple nerves at once. Carpal tunnel affect the hand specifically, not the arm. You can have two pinched nerves possibly, but one tries to explain symptoms by the most simple explanation. Consider spinal cord issues, which would affect arm and leg simultaneously. ...Read more

Carpal tunnel: Sometimes we just get pains but check for thyroid, diabetes, magnesium calcium, potassium and B12( especially if vegan ) as all can cause muscular pains. Do you sit a lot at a desk/computer? Break every 30 to 45 minutes and stretch for a minute. Rarely could be food allergy, autoimmune, MS or other.
