Various things: Lymph nodes enlargement can be caused by various reasons- among them would include- infection ( especially in the arm pit- infection of the root of the hair is common), inflammation, wound/trauma/scratches etc, malignancy - for instance- spread from adjacent organ like breast, or lymphoma etc. Infection would be the most common, see your doc and have yourself checked. A viral infection like "mono" can cause the lymph nodes in the back of your neck to swell. Certain cancers can also cause lymph node swelling. This would not show up on a cbc. Could be: Sounds like something we would call "shotty adenopathy" meaning feels like gun shot. The could be nothing might could also mean something so should be followed and evaluated.
