Not sure of question: It sounds like your doctor found a "mass" in your neck above your collar bone and recommended an MRI. This confirmed the presence of lymph nodes in the same area, some of which were slightly large, at the upper ("top normal") limit of normal. These could be reactive... responding to some inflammation/infection nearby or neoplastic (tumor). Depending on other symptoms, observation or biopsy is next ...Read more

Swelling (Definition)

Swelling is the enlargement of organs, skin, or other body parts. It is caused by a buildup of fluid in the tissues. The extra fluid can lead to a rapid increase in weight over a short period of time (days to weeks). Swelling can occur all over the body (generalized) or only in one part ...Read more

What could frequent painful lymph nodes in the armpit mean? No other signs of infection present or obvious swelling.

Hard to say!: How long has this been going on? You may be causing irritation from shaving, a harsh soap, or scented soap, cream, detergent or deodorant. This can cause lymph nodes to swell Use unscented products, no fabric softener. Shave only after using a shaving cream or lotion (unscented) to soften, and don't use a dull blade. If the problem does not go away with these measures, see a doc to find out why ...Read more

Can lymph nodes swell infrequently? I've been to the doc for neck swelling and arm pit pain but 4 docs have said they feel no swelling any ideas?

Yes, and several: Lymph nodes part of our immune defense system for virus, microorganisms & cancer. About 1% of blood plasma (water) which departs arterial-end of capillaries is not picked back up at venous-end, body wide. Lymph vessels return this excess water (& whatever is in the water) from around cells back into the blood stream. Lymph nodes, full of white blood cells, remove items/cells recognized not healthy. ...Read more

Cbc normal but lymph nodes swelling in neck and one behind neck also had one last year on elbow and nothing came of it.?

Cbc normal but lymph nodes swelling in neck and one behind neck also had one last year on elbow and nothing came of it.?

See a doctor: Hmm. Lymph nodes can swell when your immune system is fighting an infection. They are usually tender when that occurs. A viral infection like "mono" can cause the lymph nodes in the back of your neck to swell. Certain cancers can also cause lymph node swelling. This would not show up on a cbc. A doctor needs to feel your nodes and decide if further tests are needed! ...Read more

For nearly one year I have been experiencing pain in both armpits, right elbow area and groin area. There is no swelling in my lymph nodes. Just pain.

Musculoskeletal pain: There are no common conditions that cause pain in these areas. If you do not have fever, weight loss, bowel disturbance or breathing issues the problem is likely benign, not life threatening. Soreness in these areas may be due to muscle pain related to your job or activities. A trial of Tylenol or ibuprofen and a consult with a physician is reasonable. ...Read more

2 or 3 neck lymph nodes smaller than 1 CM (between 3mm and 5mm) are considered lymphadenopathy, or are still within the parameters considered safe?

Could be: Sounds like something we would call "shotty adenopathy" meaning feels like gun shot. The could be nothing might could also mean something so should be followed and evaluated. If they disappear, not likely a problem. If they persist, or grow, need to probably be biopsied.
Good luck. ...Read more

What is cervical lymphadenopathy? I have scattered subcentimeter lymph nodes throughout my neck should I worry?

Depends: Can you feel the nodes? How long you been able to feel these? Have the nodes become larger, painful or ulcerated? Do you have fever? Did you lose weight?

I have been diagnosed with bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathy. But my inguinal lymph nodes do not hurt at all? Does this diagnosis sound right?

Need work-up: Bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathies-mean-you have lymph nodes enlargement that are located on both groins area. Now, it is not a diagnosis-it is just a sign/clinical finding. Diagnosis still has to be made. There are different things that can cause above finding- inflammation, autoimmune problem, infection, malignancy etc. Please go to see your md for eval- ie-blood work, imaging, biopsy etc. ...Read more

If none of the lymph nodes enlarge in the body. No generalized lymphadenopathy, is there a chance of hiv? Maybe headache. H protective safe sex to add.

Yes: Hiv can be present without any overt signs and symptoms until the profound immune suppression creates opportunistic infections or tumors. If you think there is any chance that you may have been infected please get tested. The earlier the diagnosis is made and treatment begun, the better the outcome. ...Read more

Ct and/pelvis contrast for lymphadenopathy. Multiple non enlarged retroperitoneal lymph nodes visualized. Do you always see these nodes on ct? Normal?

These lymph nodes: May not mean anything, unless there is a readily diagnosed condition that will explain their existence, such as acute infection or tumor. Lymph nodes can pop in and out, without rhyme or reason. The existence of CHRONICALLY enlarging lymph nodes would be a red flag. Periodic followup CTs at intervals of 3 or 6 months would be recommended here. ...Read more

CT report says small lymph nodes throughout small bowel mesentery, but says no significant lymphadenopathy is seen. Normal blood work. Worried? Normal?

Lymphadenopathy: Hi, these lymph nodes could be just reactive lymph nodes, it means you possibly had some kind of inflammation in ur gut and caused the lymph nodes to react, if you have no other symptoms like night sweat, weight loss, fever then I suggest that you repeat the CT in 6 months.
Good luck. ...Read more

Random swelling of lymph nodes. Lymph nodes on right jaw line swollen and painful! Doctor gave augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) went away...now back again. Any ideas?

Salivary nodes: These bumps may be swollen salivary glands that can get blocked by calcium deposits and then become infected. Easily treated with augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) but if infection returns I would seek attention from an ENT to see if the salivary duct is blocked. If this a lymph node infection, a biopsy is might be needed to determine the source of infection. ...Read more

Had breast u/s showed multiple fibroadenomas, complex cyst and bilateral axillary lymph nodes enlargement. Painful breast+ arm with edema. Possibly?

See specialist: You have a "busy" breast and with your young age it is probably dense as well. I highly recommend you find a breast specialist who can review the films and examine you. I have several other posts on Fibroadenoma and Cystic changes (Fibrocystic) that you can review.
